We have a winner

Please join us in saying congrats to Jamie B, his donation ticket was the lucky draw for the Yamaha YDX-Moro-7 Special Edition.  You may recognize him as a racer at OTH and, cool story, he's back into MTB and his dad wants to join - now he will be able to!  Thank you all for your support.

The Trails

  • On January 23, Chino Hills State Park decided to allow Class1 Pedal Assist on the same trails as analog bicycles!

  • The MTB Hub at RTSM in San Clemente is breaking ground February 13. This first in OC pump track (and MTB community victory) will open this Spring!

  • The City of Irvine Gateway Project continues to progress with wilderness agencies currently reviewing the plan.

  • The Craig Park Bike Park has received ACOE clearance, they now issue a design-build RFP to update the Share/IMBA (OCMTBA predecessor) donated plan and move toward constructon.

The Dirt

  • The rain has started!  We've supported trail work with Laguna Canyon Foundation for the last three weekends (Rock-it, Car Wreck, Emerald Falls) and hope to see much more with forecast ahead.

  • We've submitted our Right of Entry permit application for the OC Trail Strike Team and are working wtih IMBA Trail Solutions to coordinate a comprehensive cross agency volunteer training

  • We maintain our presence in the OC Parks Trails Subcommittee, the January 9 meeting resulting in recommended trail names for Red Rocks Wilderness

  • and watch our social media for opportunities to join trailwork projects!

The Partners

  • Delium Tires, who you first saw as a gracious support of the Good Dirt Ride, has created an OCMTBA member incentive - if you want to get in on the deals like this, be sure to become a member!

  • Our retailer program continues with the current participant being REI Laguna Hills, buy a bike/get a membership to OCMTBA - if you know someone getting in to the ride, they can become part of the community!

Local Focus

Engaging youth through mountain bike riding.  Riding is used as a tool to develop skills, values, and strategies that will be carried forward for a balanced and healthy life.

Last year we supported the first Shredfest at O'Neill and Orange County was introduced to this awesome program.  We are committed to not only protecting and expanding our trails for this AND future generations, we also want to share our passion with the kids that will someday be Orange County Mountain Bike Association's leadership.

Join us on June 7 for the next Shredfest, this time at Laguna Niguel Regional Park.  There will be multiple stations - fun and challenging, with a guarantee to leave every participant and parent with a huge smile.

Thanks for your contribution

The new year is upon us and with it came elections for our executive leadership.  First and foremost, we want to say thank you to Jim Foley.  He did a great job as our VP and leader of the trailwork pillar. Although he will remain active in this area as well as some of our advocacy projects, he's going to focus his energies more on OCMB moving forward. Our 2025 Board is updated in the About Us page, and as always we welcome additional volunteers!
