This weekend several of our board attended the CAMTB Connected at one of our favorite places, the Soquel Demonstration Forest in Santa Cruz.
Our statewide coalition now includes 34 chapters like the Orange County Mountain Bike Association, reaching a combined audience of over 310,000 riders across the state. And collectively, we are stewards to over 3000 miles of trails...including the Flow Trail we enjoyed at the end of our work day (thank you SCMTS).
The sessions are invaluable in our effort to protect and expand trail access. We had excellent updates from our lobbyist in Sacramento and Washington. We strategized on important topics like changing the "language" around MTB and working with the conservation groups that share our passion for the lands. And we networked with a cast of characters like no other, the most impassioned bike crew you'll ever find.
As members of OCMTBA, a small part of your annual donation goes to CAMTB. From that stems significant outcomes like the declaration of June as California Mountain Bike Month and alignment with government funding that can be channeled right back into your dirt.
Connected? Yes you are, to a great big and amazingly awesome family called the mountain bikers of California!
